About Couch Sessions Ocala

In 2003, 3 out of 5 members of my old band lived in our house…we would create music on the couch together. Eventually, friends came over to hang out and see the process behind our song making which grew to a very large crowd on practice night… it was one of the most special and memorable things about the times at “The Band House” and we had a dedicated fan and friend base because of our “Couch Sessions”.

• Combine the Fine Arts Community with the Music Community in Ocala, in a single event designed to seamlessly integrate and unite the two art forms in a Series Event that the community can come to expect at regular intervals and attend.
• Acquire a Following, Awareness & Arts Funding for all the organizations, artists, and musicians involved in the project.
• Bring excitement and commerce to downtown Ocala through the hosting of a Couch Session Series in a locally owned businesses or location.
• Promote strong bonds between the arts organizations to aid in grant writing for the state of Florida since public funding has been cut.
• Promote a decent wage for musicians and opportunities for artists who participate in the series to sell their other artwork at the series.
